IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by NGAIRE JANE ROLLESTON pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge J D Hole
Member: Mr P M McHaffie
DECISION
We have before us an application by Ngaire Jane Rolleston for a General Manager’s Certificate.
The Police and Agency Inspector opposed the application because Ms Rolleston was unable to demonstrate recent experience in the management of licensed premises although she has been working to overcome this deficiency.
The Inspector reports that the applicant has recently purchased a small restaurant and she intends to operate the business. Ms Rolleston has undertaken only to use her certificate in those premises and, on that basis, the Police and Inspector have withdrawn their opposition.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(1) of the Act and we grant the application. The certificate, which will be annotated to reflect the undertaking, may issue immediately.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 15TH day of February 2011
