DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
[1] This decision relates to an application for the renewal of a General Manager's Certificate issued to Patrick Ngakuru. The application was opposed. Mr Ngakuru agreed that on 13 June 2009 he was convicted in the Kaikohe District Court for driving with excess breath alcohol. He has two previous drink driving convictions in 1988 and 1996 respectively.
[2] After negotiation between Mr Ngakuru and the Police it was agreed that the certificate should be renewed but for a probationary period. The Authority notes that the current certificate expired on 22 November 2010.
[3] By consent the General Manager's Certificate issued to Patrick Ngakuru is renewed for a period of 15 months from 22 November 2010.
