DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY

[1] Ms Beatson has applied for a renewal of her General Manager's Certificate. The application was opposed by the Inspector upon the grounds that Ms Beatson has not been working in the industry. A letter was received from Ms Beatson indicating that she had been working for “Waipukurau Wines and Spirits” and that she had been offered a position at the “Leopard Hotel”, Ruataniwha Street, Waipukurau.

[2] The non appearance by Ms Beatson is unfortunate. It indicates a lack of interest in the application. She was not available to counter the information provided by the Inspector to the effect that Ms Beatson has not worked for “Waipukurau Wines and Spirits” for approximately four years.

[3] In the circumstances the Authority is not satisfied that Ms Beatson has met the criteria set out in s.126 of the Act. Accordingly the application is refused.
