IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by STEWART OWEN CARTER pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a Club Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Members: Ms J D Moorhead
Mr R S Miller
DECISION
We have before us an application by Stewart Owen Carter for a Club Manager’s Certificate.
The District Licensing Agency Inspector opposed the application because she was not persuaded that Mr Carter had the requisite experience necessary for the management of licensed premises. Repeated requests for Mr Carter to demonstrate his suitability to hold the certificate went unanswered and the Inspector recommended that the application be referred to the Authority for determination.
The Inspector has now advised our Secretary that Mr Carter has completed a period of training and demonstrated a satisfactory standard. Opposition to the application is withdrawn.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(2) of the Act and we grant the application. The certificate may issue immediately.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 5TH day of November 2012
