IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by VICTOR RAYMOND ARTHUR GREEN pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge J D Hole
Member: Mr D E Major
In decision [2012] NZLLA PH 1316, following a public hearing at Auckland on 27 November 2012, we adjourned an application by Victor Raymond Arthur Green for a General Manager’s Certificate.
The Police and District Licensing Agency Inspector had opposed the application on the basis of Mr Green’s perceived unsuitability due to incorrect declaration of convictions on his application form.
At the hearing the Authority concluded that the convictions were relatively minor in nature as well as being of some antiquity. However, we decided that it would be appropriate for Mr Green to provide the Authority with a reference from his current employer prior to the grant of any certificate.
The Agency Inspector has forwarded a suitable reference to our Secretary and we are now prepared to deal with the matter on the papers.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(1) of the Act and we grant the application. The certificate may issue immediately.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 13th day of December 2012
B M Holmes
Secretary
