IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by DAVID ROBIN COOPER pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Members: Ms J D Moorhead
Mr R S Miller
DECISION
We have before us an application by David Robin Cooper for a General Manager’s Certificate.
The Police opposed the application because they were not satisfied that Mr Cooper, who is engaged in licensed premises in the capacity of head chef, would be able to discharge his managerial obligations adequately while being in charge of a kitchen.
The District Licensing Agency Inspector raised no matters in opposition but recommended that the application be referred to the Authority for determination.
The Police have since advised that opposition to the application is withdrawn.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(1) of the Act and we grant the application. The certificate may issue immediately.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 21st day of December 2012
