IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by NITIN PATEL pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge J D Hole
Member: Dr J Horn
DECISION
We have before us an application by Nitin Patel for a General Manager’s Certificate.
The Police raised no matters in opposition to the application.
The District Licensing Agency Inspector opposed the application because Mr Patel had failed to attend an interview to gauge his knowledge and understanding of the Act. The Inspector recommended that the matter be determined at a public hearing.
Prior to those proceedings the Inspector advised our Secretary that the applicant has attended an interview and has demonstrated a satisfactory knowledge of the Act. Opposition is consequently withdrawn.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(1) of the Act and we grant the application. The certificate may issue immediately.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 8th day of March 2012
