Ms J D Moorhead

DECISION

We have before us an application by Sergeant M P Fitzsimons of Nelson Police dated 1 March 2012, for suspension of a General Manager’s Certificate held by Jason Graeme Wood.

The ground for the application is that the conduct of the manager has been such as to show that he is not a suitable person to hold the certificate.

In the early hours of Sunday 15 January 2012 Mr Wood was found by Police in Bridge Street, Nelson, in an intoxicated state. He was unco-operative and required to be held for detoxification. In the early hours of Sunday 12 February 2012 Mr Wood was dealt with by Motueka Police, being again intoxicated and having been involved in an incident with a taxi driver. Mr Wood was arrested for assault but subsequently released on a pre-charge warning.

The respondent does not dispute the ground for the application and he has agreed to suspension of his manager’s certificate. Accordingly, we make the following order by consent:

General Manager’s Certificate number 051/GM/76/05, issued to Jason Graeme Wood, is suspended for four weeks from Monday 23 April 2012.

DATED at WELLINGTON this 16TH day of March 2012
