DECISION
We have before us an application by Sergeant K D Severinsen of Hawera Police dated 30 January 2012, for suspension or cancellation of a General Manager’s Certificate held by John Gerardus Klaassen.
The ground for the application is that the conduct of the manager has been such as to show that he is not a suitable person to hold the certificate.
On Friday 17 June 2011 the Police were required to attend at licensed premises where Mr Klaassen is joint licensee. He had become involved in an altercation that culminated in his being arrested and charged with having committed a violent offence. He was subsequently convicted in the Hawera District Court on 18 August 2011.
The respondent does not dispute the ground for the application and he has agreed to cancellation of his manager’s certificate. Accordingly, we make the following order by consent:
General Manager’s Certificate number 035/GM/024/2006, issued to John Gerardus Klaassen, is hereby cancelled.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 12th day of April 2012
