Last Updated: 9 July 2012
IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by NATASHA THOMSON pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge J D Hole
Member: Ms J D Moorhead
DECISION
We have before us an application by Natasha Thomson for a General Manager’s Certificate.
As the Police opposed the application because Ms Thomson had insufficient experience in the management of licensed premises and had been charged with an offence, the Southland District Licensing Agency referred the application to the Authority for determination at a public hearing due to take place on 29 May 2012.
The Police now have advised our Secretary that since more than two years have elapsed without further incident, and Ms Thomson has been employed in licensed premises since September 2010, they are satisfied that she has gained the necessary experience. Opposition is withdrawn.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(1) of the Act and we grant the application. The certificate may issue immediately.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 31st day of May 2012
