Licensing Agency Inspector – in opposition
DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
[1] We have before us an application by Joseph Cormac Byrne for renewal of a General Manager’s Certificate.
[2] The application is opposed by the Police and District Licensing Agency Inspector because Mr Byrne, who is an Irish national did not have a valid work visa. The application was referred for determination by the Authority.
[3] When the matter was called there was no appearance by or on behalf of the applicant. We take the inference, therefore, that the applicant has lost interest in pursuing his application.
[4] We are unable to be satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.126 of the Act and, as a matter of law, the application must be refused.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 23rd day of July 2012
B M Holmes
Secretary
