IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by LUCY SAU pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Quorum: Mr P M McHaffie
Ms J D Moorhead
DECISION
We have before us an application by Lucy Sau for a General Manager’s Certificate.
The District Licensing Agency Inspector opposed the application because, despite repeated requests, the applicant had failed to provide evidence of having achieved the Licence Controller Qualification prescribed by s.117A of the Act. The Agency referred the application to the Authority for determination at a public hearing.
Prior to those proceedings the applicant provided our Secretary with a copy of the qualification and opposition to the application consequently is rendered nugatory. We will deal with the application on the papers.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(1) of the Act and we grant the application.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 15th day of August 2012
