Elections of members
5 Elections of members
1 An election of 3 members must be held on the second Saturday in October in
the year 2004.
2 After that date, an election of 3 members must be held on
the day appointed by the Local Electoral Act 2001 for the holding of
successive triennial general elections of members of local authorities.
3 At
every election held under this Act, the electoral officer of the South
Wairarapa District Council is the electoral officer of the Trust Board.
4 The
electoral roll for the South Wairarapa District is the roll of electors for
elections under this Act.
5 It is the duty of the electoral officer for the
South Wairarapa District Council to indicate on the electoral roll for the
South Wairarapa District, by appropriate words, abbreviations, or marks, the
names of the persons entitled to vote at elections of members of the
Trust Board.
6 Every election under this Act must be conducted within the
district by the electoral officer of the South Wairarapa District Council on
behalf of the Trust Board. After counting the votes recorded in the district
for the candidates, the electoral officer of the South Wairarapa District
Council must, as soon as practicable, declare the result of the election.

Subject to the provisions of this Act, the provisions of the Local Electoral
Act 2001 and of any regulations made under that Act apply in respect of every
election held under this Act.
