1 Every person who does anything, or uses or operates anything, for which a marine protection document is required under the marine protection rules made under this Act, shall ensure that—a) the appropriate document is held in accordance with the marine protection rules; andb) the provisions of that document and all relevant marine protection rules are complied with.
2 Every holder of a marine protection document shall—a) if so required by the marine protection rules, establish and follow a management system that will ensure compliance with the relevant prescribed standards for protection of the marine environment and the conditions attached to the marine protection document; andb) provide training and supervision to all employees of the holder who are engaged in doing anything to which the marine protection document relates, so as to maintain compliance with the relevant prescribed standards for protection of the marine environment and the conditions attached to the marine protection document; andc) provide sufficient resources to ensure compliance with the relevant prescribed standards and the conditions attached to the marine protection document.
