1 For the purpose of supporting the achievement of the health sector principles, a New Zealand Health Charter must be made in accordance with section 57 .
2 The charter is a statement of the values, principles, and behaviours that—a) health entities are expected to demonstrate; andb) workers throughout the health sector are expected to demonstrate—i) collectively, at an organisational level; andii) individually.
3 To avoid doubt, nothing in this section affects—a) the role of responsible authorities under section 118 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 ; andb) existing professional codes and obligations.
