Commentary: The charge for purchasing land under a waiver of Crown pre-emption is changed from 10 shillings to 1 penny per acre. The reasons for this change are discussed in BPP NZ4: 1845 (369) 24 - 25.
As with 26 March, 1844 Proclamation the land transactions resulting from this proclamation were later to be declared void by Grey
(Land Claims Compensation Ordinance 1846). For some of the results of this Ordinance see Royal Commission on Surplus Lands 1948.
