Appropriation Bill 2023-2024 (No 2)
A Bill for
An Act to appropriate additional money for the purposes of the Territory for the financial year that began on 1 July 2023
The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as
follows:
This Act is the Appropriation Act 2023-2024 (No 2)
.
This Act commences on the day after its notification day.
Note The naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on
the notification day (see
, s 75 (1)).
This Act is made for the purposes of—
(a) the
, section 57 and section 58; and
(b) the
, section 6 and section 8.
In this Act:
financial year means the year that began on 1 July 2023.
5 Terms used in Financial Management Act 1996
A term used in the
has the same meaning in this Act.
6 Additional appropriations of $452 956 000
(1) If a territory entity is mentioned in a part of schedule 1, column 1—
(a) the amount mentioned in that part, column 2 is appropriated to the territory entity for additional net controlled recurrent payments in the financial year for the territory entity; and
(b) the amount mentioned in that part, column 3 is appropriated to the territory entity for an additional capital injection in the financial year for the territory entity; and
(c) the amount mentioned in that part, column 4 is appropriated to the territory entity for additional payments to be made on behalf of the Territory in the financial year for the territory entity.
(2) The amount mentioned in schedule 1, part 1.14 (Treasurer’s advance), column 5 is appropriated to the Treasurer’s advance for the Financial Management Act 1996
, section 18.
7 Net appropriations for capital injections
For the
, section 9A, the appropriations for additional capital injections mentioned in schedule 1, column 3 are for, or partly for—
(a) the net cost of purchasing or developing assets; and
(b) reducing liabilities.
The
, section 17 applies to all appropriations mentioned in schedule 1 except the appropriations to—
(a) the ACT Executive; and
(b) the Treasurer’s advance.
