CHARITABLE COLLECTIONS ACT 2003 (NO. 17 OF 2003) - SECT 55

Identity cards

    (1)     This section applies only to an authorised person appointed under section 54 (2).

    (2)     The chief executive must give each authorised person an identity card that states the person's name and appointment as an authorised person, and shows—

        (a)     a recent photograph of the person; and

        (b)     the date of issue of the card; and

        (c)     the date of expiry of the card; and

        (d)     anything else prescribed under the regulations.

    (3)     A person commits an offence if—

        (a)     the person ceases to be an authorised person; and

        (b)     the person does not return the person's identity card to the chief executive as soon as practicable (but within 7 days) after the day the person ceases to be an authorised person.

Maximum penalty: 1 penalty unit.

    (4)     An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
