(1) In this Part--
"decision-maker" means a medical assessor or merit reviewer.
"internal review" means a review of a decision by the insurer under section 7.9 (Internal review of insurer's decisions).
"medical assessment matter" means a matter declared by Schedule 2 to be a medical assessment matter for the purposes of this Part.
"merit review matter" means a matter declared by Schedule 2 to be a merit review matter for the purposes of this Part.
"miscellaneous claims assessment matter" means a matter declared by Schedule 2 to be a miscellaneous claims assessment matter for the purposes of this Part.
(2) A function conferred by a provision of this Act on a decision-maker in relation to any matter is to be exercised in accordance with the Commission rules by a decision-maker designated by the President except if it is--(a) a dispute about the assessment of a claim under Division 7.6, or(b) a merit review matter, or(c) a medical assessment matter, or(d) a miscellaneous claims assessment matter.
(3) A function conferred on the Commission by a provision of this Act in respect of any matter is to be exercised in accordance with the Commission rules.
