Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated ActsA firearm seized by or surrendered to a police officer under this Act or any other law in force in the Territory may be retained by the officer or another police officer:
(a) to determine whether an offence against this or any other Act has been committed; or
(b) until the Commissioner makes a decision under this Act in respect of the firearm.
