Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) A person must not handle food intended for sale in a manner that will render, or is likely to render, the food unsafe.
Maximum penalty: If the offender is a natural person – 500 penalty units.
If the offender is a body corporate – 2 500 penalty units.
(2) A person must not sell food that is unsafe.
Maximum penalty: If the offender is a natural person – 500 penalty units.
If the offender is a body corporate – 2 500 penalty units.
(3) An offence against subsection (1) or (2) is a regulatory offence.
