Northern Territory Consolidated Acts Northern Territory Consolidated Acts(1) A person must not, without reasonable excuse, resist, obstruct or attempt to obstruct an authorised officer who is exercising his or her powers or performing his or her functions under this Act.
Maximum penalty: 500 penalty units or imprisonment for 6 months.
(2) A person must not falsely represent, by words or conduct, that he or she is an authorised officer.
Maximum penalty: 500 penalty units or imprisonment for 6 months.
(3) A person must not threaten, intimidate or assault an authorised officer who is exercising his or her powers or performing his or her functions under this Act.
Maximum penalty: If the offender is a natural person – 500 penalty units or imprisonment for 6 months.
If the offender is a body corporate – 2 500 penalty units.
