Unauthorised things relating to fires
117 Unauthorised things relating to fires
(1) A person must not deposit any of the following in a recreation area— (a)
a lit match, pipe, cigar, cigarette or tobacco;
(b) hot ashes;
(c) a burning
or smouldering substance;
(d) a substance or device that ignites on impact or
by spontaneous combustion.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—165 penalty
units.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to a person depositing a thing
mentioned in subsection (1) for— (a) lighting or using a specified cooking
or heating appliance; or
(b) lighting a fire in a barbecue or fireplace
provided by the chief executive; or
(c) if a barbecue or fireplace is not
provided by the chief executive for the area—lighting a fire in a place that
is more than 2m from flammable material.
