Relationship to functions under other particular laws

65 Relationship to functions under other particular laws

The board must ensure that the board’s functions are performed in a way that does not duplicate the performance of a function of an entity under this Act or any of the following Acts—

(a) the Coroners Act 2003 ;
(b) the Corrective Services Act 2006 ;
(c) the Crime and Corruption Act 2001 ;
(d) the Director of Public Prosecutions Act 1984 ;
(e) the Family and Child Commission Act 2014 ;
(f) the Guardianship and Administration Act 2000 ;
(g) the Human Rights Act 2019 ;
(h) the Inspector of Detention Services Act 2022 ;
(i) the Mental Health Act 2016 ;
(j) the Ombudsman Act 2001 ;
(k) the Penalties and Sentences Act 1992 ;
(l) the Police Service Administration Act 1990 ;
(m) the Public Guardian Act 2014 ;
(n) the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009 .
Example of ensuring functions are performed in a way mentioned in this section—
To avoid duplication, the board may coordinate the conduct of a review under section 62 (1) with a person performing a function under another Act mentioned in this section.
