175 Stopping on or near a level crossing

(1) A driver must not stop on a level crossing, or on a road within 20m before the nearest rail or track to the driver approaching the crossing and 20m after the nearest rail or track to the driver leaving the crossing, unless the driver—

(a) stops at a place on a length of road, or in an area, to which a parking control sign applies; and

(b) is permitted to stop at that place under this regulation.

Penalty—

Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.

(2) For this section, distances are measured as shown in the example.

(3) In this section—

"road" does not include a road-related area, but includes any shoulder of the road.
