WORKERS' COMPENSATION AND REHABILITATION REGULATION 2014 - REG 104
Certificate given by dentist, doctor or nurse practitioner
104 Certificate given by dentist, doctor or nurse practitioner
(1) This section applies if— (a) a certificate in the approved form is not
lodged with an application made under section 132 , 132A or 132B of the Act in
relation to a worker who sustains an injury; and
(b) the worker sustained the
injury in another State or country.
(2) The insurer must accept a written
certificate that is substantially to the effect of the approved form from the
dentist, doctor or nurse practitioner who attended the worker.
(3) The
certificate is taken to be a certificate in the approved form for section 132
(3) (a) , 132A (3) (c) (i) or 132B (3) (c) (i) of the Act .
(4) Also, on the
insurer’s request, the dentist, doctor or nurse practitioner who attended
the worker must give a detailed report on the worker’s condition to the
insurer within 10 days after receiving the request.
(5) The fee payable to
the dentist, doctor or nurse practitioner for the report is an amount that the
insurer considers to be reasonable, having regard to the relevant table of
costs.
