The Parliament of South Australia enacts as
follows:
This Act may be cited as the Constitution (Electoral Redistribution)
Amendment Act 2008.
The commencement of this Act is subject to the operation of the
Referendum (Electoral Redistribution) Act 2008 and, if approved at
the referendum, this Act will come into operation on the day on which it is
assented to by the Governor.
In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a
specified Act amends the Act so specified.
Part 2—Amendment
of Constitution
Act 1934
4—Amendment of
section 82—Electoral redistributions
(1) Section 82(2)(a)—delete paragraph (a)
(2) Section 82(2)(c)—delete paragraph (c) and substitute:
(c) within 3 months after—
(i) the first polling day occurring after the commencement of the
Constitution (Electoral Redistribution) Amendment Act 2008; and
(ii) every second polling day occurring thereafter.
