23—Election of President of Legislative Council
(1) The Legislative
Council shall, at its first meeting, and before proceeding to the dispatch of
any other business, elect some member of the Council to be the President
thereof, and as often as the place of the President becomes vacant by death,
resignation, vacation of seat, or removal by a vote of the Council, the
Council shall again elect some other member to be the President thereof.
(2) The President so
elected shall preside at all meetings of the Council.
(3) The election of
the President of the Council shall be notified to the Governor by a deputation
of the Council.
