53—Powers in relation to offences
(1)
Subsection (2) applies if—
(a) a
police officer of another participating jurisdiction suspects a person of
having committed, or has alleged that a person has committed, an offence under
that other jurisdiction's vehicle or driver licensing laws; and
(b) the
person has a connection with a cross-border region.
(2) A police officer
of that other jurisdiction may exercise in the State any of the powers the
police officer has under the law of that other jurisdiction in relation to the
offence.
