85—Privileges, protection and immunity of participants in proceedings
(1) A magistrate of a
prescribed court of another participating jurisdiction—
(a)
hearing or determining in the State a cross-border proceeding of that other
jurisdiction; or
(b)
exercising in the State the cross-border jurisdiction of the court or a power
of the court for the purposes of that jurisdiction,
has the same privileges, protection and immunity as a judge of the Supreme
Court has in the performance of his or her duties as a judge.
(2) A person appearing
in the State as a legal practitioner in a cross-border proceeding of a
prescribed court of another participating jurisdiction has the same protection
and immunity as counsel appearing in a proceeding in the Supreme Court.
(3) A person appearing
in the State as a witness in a cross-border proceeding of a prescribed court
of another participating jurisdiction has the same protection as a witness
appearing in a proceeding in the Supreme Court.
