80—Offence of hindering or obstructing administration of this Act etc
(1) A person
who—
(a)
hinders or obstructs an authorised officer, or a person assisting an
authorised officer, in the exercise of powers conferred by this Act or
otherwise in the administration of this Act; or
(b) uses
abusive, threatening or insulting language to an authorised officer, or a
person assisting an authorised officer,
is guilty of an offence.
Maximum penalty: $5 000.
(2) A person who
impersonates an authorised officer, or a person assisting an
authorised officer, is guilty of an offence.
Maximum penalty: $10 000.
(3) A person who
assaults a person acting in the exercise of powers conferred by this Act, or
otherwise in the administration of this Act, is guilty of an offence.
Maximum penalty: $10 000 or imprisonment for 2 years.
