(1) Subject to
subsection (2), South Australia Police will be the co-ordinating agency
for all emergencies.
(2) The SEMP may
designate a different body or organisation as the co-ordinating agency in
relation to an emergency of a specified kind.
(3) The co-ordinating
agency has the following functions in relation to an emergency:
(a) to
consult with the relevant control agency and take action to facilitate the
exercise by the control agency of functions or powers in relation to the
emergency; and
(b) to
determine whether other agencies should be notified of the emergency or called
to the scene of the emergency or otherwise asked to take action in relation to
the emergency; and
(c) to
advise the State Co-ordinator, in accordance with any requirements of the
State Co-ordinator, in relation to the emergency; and
(d) to
exercise any other functions assigned to the co-ordinating agency under this
Act or the SEMP.
