This legislation has been repealed.
82—Regulations by the Governor
(1) The Governor may
make such regulations as are contemplated by this Act or as are necessary or
expedient for the purposes of this Act.
(2) Without limiting
the generality of subsection (1) the regulations may—
(a)
relate to—
(i)
the provision and maintenance of the irrigation or
drainage system of a government or private irrigation district;
(ii)
the manner in which irrigation water may be used in a
government or private irrigation district;
(iii)
the times at which irrigation water may be used in a
government irrigation district;
(iv)
maintaining or improving the quality of irrigation water
in a government or private irrigation district;
(v)
the drainage and disposal of irrigation water from a
government or private irrigation district;
(b) make
provisions for, or in relation to, the assessment of the quantity of
irrigation or other water used by a landowner in a government or private
irrigation district;
(c)
provide for the payment and recovery of fees—
(i)
for the installation, maintenance and testing of water
meters or for any other service provided by an irrigation authority;
(ii)
in relation to any other matter connected with the
administration of this Act;
(d)
prescribe fines not exceeding $1 250 for contravention of or failure to
comply with a regulation.
