SOIL CONSERVATION AND LAND CARE ACT 1989 - SECT 21

21—Reporting obligations of Council

        (1)         The Council must, not later than 30 September in each year, submit to the Minister a report on the work of the Council during the previous financial year in carrying out its functions and achieving the objects of this Act.

        (2)         The Council must, within six months after the end of the year 1995, submit to the Minister a report on—

            (a)         the operation of this Act during the period from the commencement of the Act until the end of that year; and

            (b)         the effectiveness, in the Council's opinion, of the Act in furthering the objects of the Act; and

            (c)         the shortcomings (if any) that have been identified by the Council in the provisions of the Act or in the administration of the Act and the measures that should be taken to overcome those problems; and

            (d)         such other matters related to the conservation and rehabilitation of the land of the State as the Council thinks fit to include in the report.

        (3)         The Minister must, within 12 sitting days after receipt of a report under this section, cause copies of the report to be laid before each House of Parliament.
