SUPPLY BILL (No. 1) 2021 This Public Bill originated in the House of Assembly, and, having this day passed, is now ready for presentation to the Legislative Council for its concurrence. SHANE DONNELLY, Clerk of the House 24 June 2021 (Brought in by the Treasurer, the Honourable Peter Carl Gutwein) A BILL FOR An Act to make interim provision for the appropriation of $2 189 745 000 out of the Public Account for the services of the Government for the financial year ending on 30 June 2022 Be it enacted by Her Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows: 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Supply Act (No. 1) 2021. 2. Commencement This Act is taken to have commenced on 1 July 2021. 3. Interpretation For the purposes of this Act - [Bill 10] 3
Supply Act (No. 1) 2021 Act No. of 2021 s. 4 Capital Services means - (a) public works or property required for public purposes; or (b) a loan authorised by law; Operating Services means the ordinary annual services of the Government. 4. Issue, application and appropriation of $2 189 745 000 (1) In respect of the financial year ending on 30 June 2022, the Treasurer may - (a) issue the sum of $2 189 745 000 out of the Public Account; and (b) apply that sum for the services of the Government. (2) The sum specified in subsection (1)(a) is appropriated. 5. Purposes of appropriation The sum specified in section 4(1)(a) is to be applied for the purposes specified in Schedule 1. 6. Inclusion of expenditure in Appropriation Act The Treasurer must incorporate in the estimates of expenditure from the Public Account, set out in the Bill for the ordinary Appropriation Act for the financial year ending on 30 June 2022, all 4
Supply Act (No. 1) 2021 Act No. of 2021 s. 7 money issued and applied, or to be issued and applied, under this Act as if that issue and application were to be appropriated afresh by that Act. 7. Expiry of Act This Act expires on 30 June 2022. 5
