Clause 1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Whales Protection Amendment Bill 2012.
Clause 2 Commencement
This Act will commence on the day on which this Act receives Royal Assent.
Clause 3 Principal Act
The Whales Protection Act 1988 is the Principal Act amended by this Act.
Clause 4 Section 3 (Interpretation)
Section 3 amends the definition of `interfere' to include `such other conduct as
is prescribed by the regulations made under this Act'.
This expands the head of power under this Act to regulate human interactions
with whales and dolphins.
Clause 5 Repeal of Act
This Act is to be repealed 90 days after commencement.
