(1) A registered nurse may administer a restricted substance to a person who is in a residential care service, within the meaning of regulation 133 , if the registered nurse is acting under the instructions of a medical practitioner or a nurse practitioner.(2) For the purposes of subregulation (1), a registered nurse is acting under the instructions of a medical practitioner or a nurse practitioner if the registered nurse administers a restricted substance that is contained in a dose administration aid.(3) A registered nurse may administer a restricted substance to a person who is not in a medical institution or a residential care service if (a) the registered nurse is acting under the direct supervision, and in accordance with the instructions, of a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner; and(b) the medical practitioners or nurse practitioners instructions are recorded on the persons medical record.
