(1)  The Registrar –

(a) must keep the following registers:

(i) a register of driver licences;

(ii) a register of motor vehicles and trailers;

(iii) a register of demerit points;

(iv) a register of written-off vehicles; and

(b) may maintain other registers for the purposes of the Act.

(2)  A register may be kept in the form of, or as part of, a computer database or in another form that the Registrar considers appropriate.
