BUILDING REGULATIONS 2014 (S.R. 2014, NO. 57) - REG 15
Land subject to flooding
For the purposes of section 159 of the Act, the following is the designated
flood level: (a) 600 millimetres above ground level or the highest known flood
level, whichever is the highest, for land known to be subject to flooding
other than as provided in paragraph (b) , (c) or (d) ;
(b) the level
which has a 1% probability of being exceeded in any year for the following
watercourse floodplains: (i) the Derwent River through New Norfolk;
(ii) the
upper reaches of the Tamar River and the lower reaches of the North Esk River;
(iii) the Huon River at Huonville and Mountain River;
(iv) the South Esk River
through Perth and Longford to the Tamar River;
(v) the Jordan River below
Pontville;
(vi) the Mersey River through Latrobe;
(vii) the Bagdad Rivulet;
(viii) the Elizabeth River through Campbell Town;
(ix) the Meander River
through Deloraine;
(x) the Macquarie River through Ross;
(c) 600 millimetres
above the ordinary high-water mark of the spring tide for land on which
flooding is affected by the rise and fall of the tide;
(d) in respect of a
watercourse floodplain not mentioned in paragraph (b) , a level that,
according to a report adopted by the relevant council, has a 1% probability of
being exceeded in any year.
