Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) " section 60(c) of the Act" and substituting "section 60(c) or (d) of the Act" ;

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b)(i) "4.5 penalty units" and substituting "9 penalty units" .

These regulations amend the Emergency Management Regulations 2020 by –

(a) enabling an infringement notice to be issued in respect of the offence of providing false or misleading information to an emergency management worker; and

(b) increasing the penalty that may be payable by an individual in respect of an infringement notice under the Emergency Management Act 2006 .
