(1) In this section
—
register means the register referred to in
section 44.
(2) A person who is a
party to a proposed adoption must notify the CEO within 28 days of becoming
aware of —
(a)
information that may be relevant to the identification of a person who may be
required to give effective consent to the adoption; or
(b)
circumstances that may affect whether a consent to the adoption is effective.
Penalty: a fine of $10 000 and imprisonment for 12
months.
(3) A person whose
name is on the register must notify the CEO within 28 days of becoming aware
of any change in the person’s circumstances that may affect his or her
suitability for adoptive parenthood in accordance with the criteria referred
to in section 40(2).
Penalty: a fine of $10 000 and imprisonment for 12
months.
