(1) Subject to
section 136F, if a decision is made in a Convention country to convert an
adoption of a child in accordance with Article 27 of the Hague Convention, the
decision is recognised and effective for the laws of the State on and from the
day the decision becomes effective.
(2) The recognition of
the decision includes the recognition for the laws of the State that the
decision has the effect that the relationship between the child and the
individuals who were, immediately before the adoption, the child’s
parents is to be treated as not being that of child and parent.
