(1) In this
section —
“authorised person” means —
(a) the
Board; or
(b) the
Complaints Committee; or
(c) the
Law Complaints Officer; or
(d) the
President of the State Administrative Tribunal or a member of staff of the
Tribunal.
(2) This section
applies if an authorised person, in connection with performing functions under
this Act, acquired information concerning a corporation that is or was an
incorporated legal practice.
(3) The authorised
person may disclose to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission
information concerning the corporation that is relevant to the
Commission’s functions.
(4) Information may be
provided under subsection (3) despite any law relating to secrecy or
confidentiality, including any provisions of this Act.
