(1) The Board
may —
(a)
amend the registration of a locally registered foreign lawyer if the lawyer
requests the Board to do so; or
(b)
suspend the registration of a locally registered foreign lawyer for a
specified period if the lawyer requests the Board to do so or agrees to the
Board doing so; or
(c)
cancel the registration of a locally registered foreign lawyer if the lawyer
requests the Board to do so or surrenders the lawyer’s local
registration certificate to the Board.
(2) The Board may
amend a locally registered foreign lawyer’s registration —
(a) for
a formal or clerical reason; or
(b) in
another way that does not adversely affect the lawyer’s interests.
(3) The amendment,
suspension or cancellation of registration under this section is effected by
written notice given to the lawyer.
(4) Section 175
does not apply in the case of an amendment, suspension or cancellation under
this section.
