(1) If
section 389(2), 551(4) or 571(4) requires the Attorney
General to cause the text of a document to be laid before each House of
Parliament, or dealt with under this section, within a period and —
(a) at
the commencement of the period, a House of Parliament is not sitting; and
(b) the
Attorney General is of the opinion that the House will not sit during that
period,
the Attorney General
must transmit a copy of the document to the Clerk of that House.
(2) A copy of the
document transmitted to the Clerk of a House under subsection (1) is
taken to have been laid before the House.
(3) The laying of a
copy of the report before a House that is taken to have occurred under
subsection (2) is to be reported to the House by the Clerk, and recorded
in the Votes and Proceedings or Minutes of Proceedings, on the first sitting
day of the House after the Clerk received the copy.
