Update

Part Two

Community Alert Against Racism and Violence

CAARAV is a coalition of concerned individuals who have come together to actively oppose racism and fascism and to defend those who are being attacked. Right-wing extremists, who belong to Neo-Nazi organisations such as National Action, have carried out acts of violence and intimidation against Aborigines, Jews, Asian and African people, Lesbians and Gays, Trade Unionists and others who they choose to dislike. CAARAV has formed groups to lobby the Government, police and other bodies; to help people defend themselves against attacks; to educate the public about increases in right wing violence; and to raise money in order to accomplish the above tasks.

To join CAARAV, obtain more information, report an attack, organise for a CAARAV speaker to attend a function or to send a donation write to:

It is administered by the Secretary-General on the basis of recommendations made by a five member Board of Trustees which meets yearly in April. The deadline for applications for assistance from the fund to attend the Working Group's next session is 7 March 1990.
