Administrative Review Council - Admin Review |
On 11 March 2003 the UK Lord Chancellor announced a new, unified tribunals service. The service will provide a common administrative function for the 10 largest tribunals in the United Kingdom, which cover areas such as employment, pensions, immigration, criminal injuries, compensation, mental health, social security, benefits, tax and disability.
The unified tribunals service was recommended in a review of the UK tribunal system by Sir Andrew Leggatt. A white paper that will form the foundation for policy proposals is expected later this year. The government expects the new system will increase accessibility to tribunals, raise customer service standards, and improve administration.[1]
