Appointment of the music industry Ombudsman

In July 2003 Ms Una Lawrence was appointed inaugural Labelling Code of Practice Ombudsman under the Recorded Music Labelling Code of Practice. The Code, developed by the Australian Record Industry Association and the Australian Music Retailers Association, deals with labelling of audio products that contain coarse language and adult themes. The Ombudsman’s role will include mediating unresolved complaints, making recommendations for improving industry compliance, and preparation of an annual report on the operation of the Code.
