Administrative Review Council - Admin Review |
On 1 October 2003 the Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts announced that a dedicated office of Postal Industry Ombudsman would be established within the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman. Establishment of an entirely separate industry ombudsman scheme was considered unjustified because of the relatively low level of complaints against the postal industry—about 900 annually. Industry operators other than Australia Post can choose to opt into the new arrangements.
