Administrative Review Council - Admin Review |
In January 2006 the Attorney-General announced that the Australian Law Reform Commission would conduct a comprehensive review of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). A particular focus of the review will be the needs of individuals for privacy protection in the light of evolving technology. In conducting its review, the ALRC will have regard to developments in state and territory privacy law since the Commonwealth Privacy Act came into force. The ALRC is to report to the Attorney-General no later than 31 March 2008.
More information about the review will be available on the ALRC website <http://www.alrc.gov.au>.
